ELENA JACINTO

Elena Jacinto

Massage Therapist

Elena has been in the area of health and wellness since 1985. Elena has been working in private practice with individuals and couples to enhance their level of health and fitness through massage, exercise, stretching, relaxation, meditation, hypnosis, neurolinguistic programming, and laughter. She believes that health can be managed, manipulated, and maintained through a variety of practices. Her education consists of both traditional health practices and alternative health practices. Elena has a full understanding that human beings are complex and ever-changing, much like life. Therefore, she believes that every individual has their own specific “life map.” This “life map” is a representation of the individual’s personal experiences, desires, fantasies (past, present, and future) and personal values. These experiences and values are shaped by; society, culture, race, politics, media, education, religion, family, biological sex, physiology, gender identity, sexual history, sexual orientation, sexual expression, gender expression, physical, psychological, and spiritual development. Elena’s extensive education as a massage therapist in the areas of anatomy, physiology, neurology, and pathology allows her to identify the presence or lack of physical health that exists for each client.
Elena Jacinto received her Massage Therapy training in New York, a state which requires 1000 training hours (twice the amount of hours needed in many other states). The focus is on medical sciences rather than spa techniques with required courses in Anatomy, Myology, Neurology, Pathology, and Physiology.

Elena began her massage therapy career while working in a private physical therapy office on Long Island, New York. Elena had the opportunity to work with individuals with varying degrees of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions. Many of the patients were also athletes in need of sports rehabilitation. Elena is grateful that her first 13 years as a massage therapist were spent in medical rehabilitation. She found it rewarding to assist individuals during different stages of their recovery. It was in that environment, under the direction of a highly skilled and respected physical therapist, where Elena Jacinto, LMT, CHES developed her understanding of the mind body connection to health. She is also a Health Educator and Wellness Coach.
Over the years, she studied a wide variety of health and wellness modalities, such as Hypnosis, Meditation, Reiki, NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), Floatation/R.E.S.T( Reduced External Stimulation Therapy), Pranic Beathing, Transformative Education, Mediation, Polysomnography (Sleep Study), EKG (Electrocardiography), Mediation, 12 Step Recovery, First Aid/CPR and Wellness Coaching. Each of these modalities has helped shape her philosophy of health allowing her to draw upon her training and experience to better assist her clients.
